He looks like he's up to something!

This is the photo I submitted to Design magazine for a feature they are doing on "The Intern" competition.

Why does every Black Guy have a photo where they hold their head to the side?

Hurricane Katrina Recovery Award

WPRL 91.7FM (my station) received the “2005 Recovery Award” at the national Public Radio Development and Marketing Conference, held in New Orleans, from National Public Radio (NPR) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) for WPRL’s services provided to the citizens of Mississippi during and following Hurricane Katrina.

That's me third row second person. (Hard to pick me out huh?) Some notables in the picture are: Kevin Klose, CEO of NPR (front row, third person) and Jenna Carter, Director of Development for Jackson State University (to my immediate left).

Slim and G

Stephanie Grace Lim (SLim) and Martin Gee of the San Jose Mercury News. These are two of the most creative people I know. They’re awesome designers with hundreds of awards and a Pulitzer Prize nomination between them(SLim). I leaned more about creativity from these two than any book I’ve read this year. Just plain cool.

A Big Hug to SND Orlando

From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank The Society of News Design and the Orlando Sentinel for one of the most amazing weeks of my life. Thanks to Santiago Ayulo, Bonita Burton, Steven Komives, Tracy Collins, Matt Mansfield, Martin Gee, Stephanie Grace Lim, and Charles Apple, for an outstanding conference and a wonderful "INTERN" experience.

People, your work is outstanding but the kindness you’ve shown myself and the other INTERN candidates over the past week has been truly wonderful.

I thank you, I thank you, I thank you

SNO ORLANDO 2006

This has to be one of the most amazing weeks in my life.
So much has changed over the past few days. Just one week ago I was doing design for small projects and local publications now national editors and designers know who I am.

There is so much I have to say about this week. I need to just collect my thoughts and calm down. This is AWSOME! Thanks to Santiago Ayulo, Bonita Burton, Steven Komives, Matt Mansfield,Tracy Collins, Martin Gee and Stephanie Grace Lim, Charles Apple, for an outstanding conference and a wonderful "INTERN" experience. AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
